The Town maintains a pool of applications for vacancies which occasionally occur on these boards and commissions. Persons interested in appointment should contact the Town at 828-627-2566, or stop by Town Hall or download an application here.

 
The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board. Some powers and duties include administrative review, and conditional uses and variances. Five regular and one alternate member are appointed by the Town (those members living inside the corporate limits). Six members and one alternate member are appointed by Haywood County (these members must live within the one-mile Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the town). Meetings are on every other month at 7:00 p.m. at the Clyde Town Hall Conference Room, 8437 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721. (Months of meetings are as follows: February, April, June, August, October, and December)

 The Clyde Historic Preservation Commission was created to perform the duties of regulating historic landmarks and historic districts. Most of our members have special interest, experience, or education in history, or related fields. Members must reside within the Town limits of Clyde. The Commission consists of five members. Terms of appointment are staggered.  Meetings are on the 1st Thursday each quarter at 2 p.m. in the Clyde Town Hall, 8437 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721.

The Clyde Planning Board makes studies of areas, prepares plan, develop policies, ordinances and administrative procedures, making recommendations to the Board of Aldermen and/or Board of Adjustment regarding these issues. This Board currently consists of five members that are appointed by the Town and three members that are appointed by Haywood County. Terms of appointment are staggered. Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Classroom of the Clyde Town Hall, 8437 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721.

The Town of Clyde Mayor and Board of Aldermen are elected to serve four (4) year staggered terms. The next election will be held in November of 2021. Elections are non-partisan and handled by the Haywood County Board of Elections at 828-452-6633. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Clyde Town Hall located at 8437 Carolina Blvd., Clyde, NC 28721. All meetings are open to the public.
